BIO / PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Ric Anderson is a Senior Executive with extensive Retail and Wholesale Merchandising experience in Fashion & Consumer Products. His background includes Retail, Wholesale, Strategy, Product Development, Branding and International Sourcing. Ric’s career has evolved into a focus on building strategic business models through development of Customer Value Propositions that the Customer can both relate and accept as having personal value. Those propositions then can be used as competitive advantages in the marketplace.

 

Ric has established his own consulting firm, Anderson Strategic Brand Concepts that specializes in creation of Customer Value Strategies everyone has contributed, wants to execute, achieves sustainable growth, increases profits, and has scalability.

 

It is Ric’s facility for developing, achieving alignment, and executing innovative strategy models to position an organization for aggressive market share growth and profitability in an intensely competitive marketplace, that showcase his abilities.

 

His skills extend to brand positioning, assortment strategies, product development, and the use of “the Power of Culture”.  To complete his strategies, Ric uses his abilities and expertise in P&L management, multi-channel revenues models, marketing, distribution, wholesale and multi-store operations.

 

A forward thinker, Ric demonstrates the unique skill sets needed to analyze a marketplace for most product categories and adeptly transition the brand to be “Top of Mind” with the Customer, within continually changing environments. Building "Brand Values" that everyone can understand is his speciality. He has been rated by Psychological Associates, as being in the top 10% of Senior Executives for his ability to understand cause/affect relationships and strategic abilities.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

He has held SVP/VP positions for Sears, Harry & David, Saks Inc., May Co.  and Fossil. Most recently he served as the VP/GMM of Footwear ($720M) for Sears, where he led the team to be the best performing Softlines Division. He initiated new, innovative processes and revenue channels to achieve the division’s goals.

 

Ric has a broad background as a Senior Executive in merchandising, strategy, branding (national and private brands), E-Commerce, development of cross functional relationships, product development, and social media marketing;

 

He resides in McKinney, Texas, with his wife Judy, son Andy and daughter Amy. In addition to involvement with his family, Ric enjoys tennis, reading, movies, and opportunities to have a positive impact on people’s lives.
